Reuters Chinese Language News Service is looking for a smart news analyst to help create, launch and maintain a web browser used to highlight stories most relevant to Thomson Reuters' core clients in China. The successful candidate is required to have the skill and experience of choosing the right stories, pictures and graphics desired by the clients, and constantly update the page on a day-to-day basis to keep clients informed of the most important news. He or she needs to cooperate closely with a group of sub-editors and translators to decide what stories should be selected, stay in close touch with clients and implement changes according to client need. The candidate is also expected to aggressively promote some of the best Reuters Chinese news to clients through PDFs and emails.
Responsibilities
- Help create, maintain, edit and update Reuters Chinese lanaguage TOP NEWS web browser, designed for Thomson Reuters' core Chinese clients in Greater China
- Aggressive marketing of Reuters Chinese news to clients and business divisions through emails and PDFs
- Work closely with a group of sub-editors and translators on news packaging and promotion
Qualifications
• At least two years' relevant experience with a credible news organisation
• Strong news judgement. Multi-media news experience is preferred
• Thorough understanding of financial markets across asset classes
• Excellent communication skills
• Understanding of Reuters business and the role news plays in it
• Capable of working under pressure
