The American Center of Philippine Arts (ACPA) was founded in February of 2009 and provides young people the opportunity to learn about Philippine history and culture by using Philippine dance, music and the arts as a tool.

ACPA's mission is to provide a unique educational and developmental platform for multidisciplinary Philippine arts through innovative hands-on classes, collaborations, networking opportunities, and showcasing events. ACPA strives to nurture both traditional and progressive Philippine arts to strengthen the Pilipino community and ethnic identity.

The American Center of Philippine Arts starts its first ever Creative Writing Workshop Series for Youth ages 14-19 at OACC. Share your story and help strengthen our community! Walang Hiya ("No Shame") Writing Workshop Series
For ages 14-19
October 5 - November 18, 2010
Every Tuesday and Thursday Night from 6:00pm-7:00pm @ OACC
$25.00 per student. Materials, Food & Drinks will be provided every session.

All students will receive their own copy of "Walang Hiya," a groundbreaking collection of poetry and short fiction by today's most established and anticipated Pilipino and Pilipino American writers. Walang Hiya, a term traditionally used to shame has been reclaimed through this body of work to examine the taboo in our communities with fresh, honest and unflinching voices.
