Call for Submissions: The Columbia Undergraduate Journal of South Asian Studies
Deadline: 17 October 2010

The Columbia Undergraduate Journal of South Asian Studies is looking for submissions and editorial board members for its Fall 2010 issue.

The Columbia Undergraduate Journal of South Asian Studies (CUJSAS) is a web-only academic journal based out of Columbia University. The journal is a space for undergraduates all over the world to publish their original research on South Asia (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka) from both the social sciences and humanities. The journal has been created by undergraduates for undergraduates, and so the selection process is administered by an editorial board comprised of Columbia students. Our website is: http://www.columbia.edu/cu/cujsas.

Submission Information

CUJSAS is currently accepting submissions for Volume II, Issue I. We accept theses, research papers, seminar papers, and essays relating to the study of South Asia from both the humanities and social sciences. However, it is preferred that papers that solely deal with quantitative analysis are not submitted. There is no ideal page range, though generally submissions between 15 and 40 pages are preferred. Your submission will not be disqualified if it is under 15 or over 40 pages. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply, as long as they attained their undergraduate degree during the 2009-2010 academic year. More information can be found at: http://www.columbia.edu/cu/cujsas/submissions.html. Submissions are due by October 17th at 5 PM.

Editorial Application Information:

We are currently looking for 2-3 new editorial board members for the course of the academic year. Applicants should enjoy working with peers, have some experience with publication or in a previous editorial capacity, and have a demonstrable interest in the study of South Asia. Applications can be found at http://www.columbia.edu/cu/cujsas. The deadline for editorial board applications is September 30 at 11 PM.

Any questions can be directed to cujsas@gmail.com.
