The Asian Studies Program of Vanderbilt University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Southeast Asian Literature with an emphasis in Vietnam. Research specialization in Modern/Contemporary literature is preferred; ability to teach courses addressing colonial and post-colonial issues in Southeast Asia is required. This position is part of a growing Asian Studies Program at Vanderbilt which emphasizes interdisciplinary, comparative, and cross-cultural approaches. The successful candidate should have Ph.D. in hand and a strong record of excellence in teaching and research.
Applications should include a detailed letter of introduction, cv, writing sample (e.g. peer-reviewed article and/or book/dissertation chapter), available teaching evaluations, and three letters of reference. Review of applications will begin on October 1, 2010.
