Winners of the Nepalese Essay Writing Contest Announced
The Nepalese Association in Southeast America (NASeA) and Association of Nepalese in Midwest America (ANMA) opened an essay contests to all high school, middle school and elementary school students of North America last July.

The themes were:

Nepali family traditions: How it has influenced me for the high school category
The place my mother was born: Through my eyes for the middle school category
Show and Tell: Nepal
for elementary school category

The following are the winners:

High School
Pratiksha Gurung, Canada (first)
Simron Khadka, US (second)
Swikriti Sapkota, US (third)

Middle School
Apekhchya Shrestha, Canada (first)
Slisha Shrestha, US (second)
Paras Khatri, US (third).

Elementary School
Anusha Kayasth (first)
Summit Pradhan (second)
Ishika Tripathi (third)

The top writings will also be published in NASeA’s upcoming Yeti View Point magazine. The winners will be honored during NASeA/ANMA joint convention in Labor Day Weekend, 2010 in Lexington, KY.
