In 2000 the Board of NPF authorized a new award for Excellence in Online Journalism. The intent of the award is to recognize achievement in the rapidly changing field of internet journalism, and encourage others through the winner's example. The winner receives $2,500. The award can be made to a site, or an individual, or a specific project. The award is presented at the annual Awards Dinner.
The deadline for 2010 entries will be 5 pm Monday, October 4, 2010.
The application requires a letter of explanation which should include a statement about the site and its unique properties, as well as information about journalistic achievements in the period of September 2009 to September 2010. Please have all application materials prepared as you complete the form as you may not save and return to the application later. If these items are not uploaded to the online application, it will be considered ineligible for review.
