Destinations of the World News magazine is seeking a qualified candidate to join our Dubai Media City-based team as deputy editor/sub-editor. DOTW News is an independent global travel magazine distributed in first and business class airport lounges and a number of Dubai-based five-star hotels. This opportunity is for a permanent position at WNN Limited, a publishing company based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Key responsibilities:
You will be a skilled sub-editor with hands-on magazine-subbing experience, flawless attention to detail and a strong background in business or travel journalism.
This is a hands-on role requiring exceptional organisation skills, keen attention to detail, a strong awareness of the flow of a magazine and a clear vision of the development of the product.
The ideal candidate should have strong creative instincts, a commercial understanding, good knowledge of InDesign, and excellent writing/editing skills.
The deputy editor role will involve initiating and developing sources of relevant travel and tourism news, producing and researching accurate news stories on a monthly basis, interviewing, and taking responsibility for several sections of the magazine.
The successful applicant must be willing to get out and develop relationships with PR and media agencies, so a positive attitude, creativity and the ability to use your initiative are essential to this role.
Expect to travel from time to time, while working to tight deadlines and representing the business with professionalism.
