Destinations of the World News magazine and its online edition www.dotwnews.com are seeking a qualified candidate to join our Dubai Media City-based team as assistant online editor.
The site is a global product, with a subscriber base of over 40,000 users growing daily.
This opportunity is for a permanent position at WNN Limited, a publishing company based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Key responsibilities:
You will be a skilled writer with hands-on web-experience, creative online attitude and a strong background in business or travel journalism. Attention to detail is essential.
The role will involve initiating and developing sources of relevant travel business news, producing and uploading breaking news stories on a daily basis, interviewing, sourcing and editing relevant images, as well as maintaining the website and any interactive areas, such as forums and reader responses on a day-to-day basis.
You will also be required to compile a weekly newsletter for subscribers, edit and upload copy from the monthly print edition, and manage our social networking profiles on sites including Twitter and Facebook.
The successful applicant must also be willing to get out and develop relationships with PR and media agencies, so a positive attitude, creativity and the ability to use your initiative are essential to this role.
Requirements include outstanding written and verbal skills, awareness of online advertising, excellent creativity and the ability to effectively manage corporate resources.
A strong editorial background is a must and previous online experience is highly preferable.
