Remy Bumppo Theatre Company is accepting scripts for its Translations and Adaptations Staged Reading Series.

We are seeking vivid new versions of well-established texts or adaptations that open literate texts to a new audience. We encourage writers who believe a play needs a fresher voice or particular point of view in order to see the work in a new light. Submissions must be a translation or adaptation of an already existing manuscript that playwright has rights to adapt.

The deadline for 2011-12 season is Nov 1. Please send your script and cover letter with a stamped, self-addressed envelope if you want your script returned. Make sure to include all up-to-date contact information and a suggested cast/doubling breakdown.

Mail to: Remy Bumppo Theatre Company 3717 N. Ravenswood Ave., Suite 245, Chicago, IL 60613. Scripts receive due consideration not just for future development, but also for public readings and possible future mainstage production. Please acquaint yourself with the company’s previous work through our website: www.remybumppo.org
