Pasadula Workshop Call for Application (Philippines)
Ten beginning writers will be chosen as fellows to a three month intensive one-act playwriting workhop, called Pandayan sa Dula (Pasadula).

The U.P. Department of Filipino and Philippine Literature sponsors the drama workshop in cooperation with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.

Slots are open to beginning playwrights from Metro Manila. Applicants must submit the following (1) a scenario that shows the author, title, cast of characters, summary, production concept, and a clear narrative flow from the opening to the closing scene; (2) five to seven pages of the script; (3) photo and comprehensive biographical notes; and (4) a signed certificate stating that the author will devote his/her time as required by the three-month long intensive workshop.

Five senior renowned playwrights will each mentor two fellows to ensure the quality of writing and the staging of the newly written plays.

Send applications to pasadula@yahoo.com before August 6, 2010. Pasadula starts on August 14. The sponsors will shoulder all workshop expenses.

Pasadula will also stage lectures by respected directors, actors, and literature professors.
