Since its inception in 1995, the Ateneo Heights Writer Workshop (AHWW), patterned after the tradition of writing workshops in the Philippines has produced a number of impressive examples of writing in poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction.

Each year, the workshop accepts ten promising writers, all students of the Ateneo de Manila University, to participate in the prestigious writing grant, with two-three works being critiqued for each fellow. Many of the AHWW alumni have gone on to create names for themselves in the literary community of the Philippines. Similarly, many excellent writers—some of them, former fellows as well—have served as panelists to this workshop, in order to assist the fellows in refining and understanding their craft through insights and critiques.

This year, the panelists are Dr. Benilda Santos, Dr. DM Reyes, Edgar Samar, Allan Derain, Vlad Gonzales, Conchitina Cruz, Mark Cayanan, Adam David, and Cyan Abad-Jugo. The workshop will be held in Antipolo City, from July 30 to August 1.
