A combination of two Persian words Nil (blue) and Ab (water), NILAB literally means "blue water." THE NILAB is the Turkic name for the Indus river and, we think, it effectively conveys the sense of cultural and literary mixing/syncretism we want to encourage by publishing the magazine.
THE NILAB, a web-only publication, seeks to publish emerging and established writer.
THE NILAB invites submissions on Pakistan- and South Asia-related themes in the form of short stories, poems, essays, book reviews. Essays and short stories should not be longer than 5000 words.
All submissions should be sent as attached word documents to submissions@thenilab.com. The response time is four to eight weeks.
