Asian Literary Review Appoints New Editor-in-Chief
The Asia Literary Review today announced the departure of Editor-in-Chief Chris Wood and the appointment of Stephen McCarty as his replacement.

Chris took on the post in September 2007, re-launching the ALR under his stewardship. He has relinquished his position to undertake various literary projects of his own.

Stephen is a former Literary Editor of the South China Morning Post, Hong Kong.

ALR publisher Ilyas Khan said: “We place on record our sincere thanks to Chris for an excellent job in bringing the ALR through a transitional phase to the position of prestige and leadership it now enjoys.

“Chris tackled the job with determination and equanimity. He raised editorial standards to a professional level and his vision is largely responsible for making the ALR what it is today. Chris is going to be staying on for a short while to help Stephen get started. All of us at the ALR wish him well in what we are sure will be a bright future.

“We now welcome Stephen to the group and look forward to working with him on this thrilling journey. Asian literature is at an exciting and pivotal time and we are privileged to be at the forefront of so many incredible initiatives.”
