The Emirates Writers Union recently released issue 58 of the Literary Affairs journal. The journal has a new look and boasts numerous contributions by writers, authors and researchers.
The opening article carried the signature of poet Habib Al Sayegh, editor in chief, President of the Emirates Writers Union, and many articles representing various points of view, research papers, intellectual opinions, collective works by professional authors, and poetical creations of creative Emiratis and Arabs.
In his opening article entitled "This Journal..This Home", Al Sayegh stressed the importance the journal has placed on continually enriching its contents and broadening the base of its contributing authors. The quarterly journal has continued to grow step by step, year by year, he said; it certainly had its ups and downs, as did the Emirates Writers Union. It has realized many dreams and sometimes stumbled along the way. He added that the Emirates Writers Union, and its members, have always backed the journal enthusiastically with a view to enabling this publication to rise and to continue. Here it stands today, he said, published during a new phase in the life of the Emirates Writers Union, and of the nation, well aware of the deep concerns and dangers which surround it, be they on the political or creative arena, both locally and globally.
