ForeWord Reviews wants to see how creative you can be. That's why we're asking for entries in our first annual Book Trailer Contest.
If you're an author or publisher of an independently published book, roll up your sleeves, make a video trailer for your book and enter our contest. The grand prize winner, as determined by public voting, will receive an Apple iPad! All book trailers will be shown at the Indie Press Lounge at Book Expo America in New York City in May.
What are Book Trailers? Wikipedia says:
A book trailer is a video advertisement for a book which employs techniques similar to those of movie trailers. They are circulated on television and online in most common digital video formats.... Book Trailers can be acted out, full production trailers, flash videos, animation or simple still photos set to music with text conveying the story.
Maybe you've never made a video or produced anything like this before, but don't let that stop you. As the author of your book, you know the subject matter, storyline, characters, etc. better than anyone else. Think of the book trailer as an opportunity to draw in prospective readers in a new way. The result will be publicity for you and your book, and hopefully more sales!
