Research Editor
Asia Pacific's leading technology market research provider is rebounding and growing rapidly, hence we are seeking individuals for newly created roles to be based in Manila, Philippines. This reports directly to the A/P Regional Publishing Manager, in conjunction with regional interaction within our Publishing Services & Technologies Group (PS&T).
In this role, the Research Editor will be focused on editing and formatting English language documents and schedule management for our IDC operations. The Research Editor’s primary function is to ensure the written quality of IDC’s research documents, and will also cover the following tasks:
Proofreading, language editing, and formatting of IDC documents
Data checking and analysis and ensuring data integrity
Keeping track of the workflow and progress of documents, preparing regular document status reports, updating the editing schedule daily, and other administrative tasks
Doing administrative functions and posting editing feedback to analysts and independent contractors
Providing training to staff and analysts, when necessary, on editing and the IDC Template, and answering questions staff and analysts may have about the IDC Template, English usage, and writing
Requirements:
With at least 2 years experience working for equivalent publishing sector specializing in editing, data checking, and proofreading, or related area.
Minimum university or college degree: Mass Communication or English Language degrees advantageous
Numerically literate, patient, meticulous, and disciplined; solid analytics and detail-driven
With strong written and verbal fluency in English, knowledge of foreign language is considered advantageous and a plus
Copes well under pressure, particularly with deadlines and multiple competing demands
MS Excel, Word, and Power-Point intermediate level experience required
Able to handle pressure situations and has a positive mindset toward achieving objectives of research projects
Gives attention to detail, both qualitative and quantitative, and has a strong self-motivated, independent work ethics
Knowledge of information technology and basic business dynamics is advantageous
Citizens of the Philippines, Permanent Residents, or those currently authorized to work in the Philippines
