Gyaana Writers' Coracle for Aspiring Authors

17 September 2010
Gyaana Writers' Coracle for Aspiring Authors
Deadline: open

Gyaana Writers' Coracle is a new wing of Gyaana Books. We aim to help aspiring authors (fiction and narrative non-fiction) in getting their manuscript ready for publication.

[Please note: On principle, Gyaana Books will not publish scripts that come to GWC. Gyaana Books selects scripts from its own submissions, and they go through their routine editorial process. GWC is an independent wing.]

WHAT WE OFFER

1. Manuscript assessment + feedback + editorial services
* An opportunity to aspiring authors to get their manuscript read, assessed, and prepared to go to a publisher.
* Substantive editing: detailed feedback on the script, marking specific areas that need attention/reworking (the whys and hows).
* Copy-editing: complete editorial input (with three rounds of editing).
* Guidance in giving proper shape to the script.
* Tips on creative writing.
2. Training programme for aspiring writers
* A short-term training programme with assignments, to help you write better (details on request).

HOW DOES IT WORK

The author must send us a synopsis (not more than one side of an A4 sheet), and the complete script, at D-220, Sector 55, Noida 201307, addressed to Gyaana Writers' Coracle. If we accept your script, we'll get back to you within four to six weeks, and ask for the soft copy.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE

Once the project begins, we should be able to wind it up in 60 days, depending on how fast the author can re-work the script based on our feedback.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST

The fee will be discussed with you, based on the amount of work the manuscript requires.

WHAT WE DO NOT DO

* We do not automatically publish the final manuscript. GWC is an independent wing of Gyaana Books that simply aims at preparing publishable manuscripts.
* We do not sell the manuscript on the author’s behalf to other publishers, as literary agents do. We are not a literary agency. However, we can guide you to literary agents.
