Submissions 2010
Submissions are now open for the 2010 festival!
FESTIVAL DATES: September 17 & 18, 2010
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: July 15, 2010 (entries must arrive in Vancouver by this date)
Based in scenic British Columbia, the Vancouver Singapore Film Festival Society is dedicated to entertaining and educating audiences while promoting Singapore-made films, filmmakers and artists. The Vancouver Singapore Film Festival (VSFF) is a recent addition to the much celebrated and equally diverse film festival circuit of Vancouver, home to one of the five largest international film festivals in North America.
Dubbed as “Hollywood North”, multicultural Vancouver has had many notable film and television productions filmed and produced locally, including the Twilight installments, 2012, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Smallville, Battlestar Galactica and The X-Files. Singapore's film industry, though comparably smaller and unknown, is a hidden gem of Asia that is continually producing world-class talent. VSFF aims to make Singapore a permanent fixture on the international stage by creating opportunities for Singaporean/Singapore-based filmmakers to showcase their work in Canada.
With our recent establishment as a non-profit society and the proud support of the Singapore Film Commission (notably the first and only Singapore film festival in North America to achieve this status), VSFF continues to bridge the film industries of Singapore and Canada by providing a supportive platform for the Canadian recognition and exposure of Singapore films. To everyone in the Singapore film industry: Your passion for films, persevering pride in your work and relentless pursuit of your dreams humbles and inspires us. VSFF is your film festival too and we hope you join us in our mission.
Join us this September at the 3rd Annual Vancouver Singapore Film Festival, and experience Singapore through Film, Culture and Celebration!
