From Hyphen's blog:
Entries are pouring in for the 2010 Asian American Short Story Contest, brought to you by Hyphen and the Asian American Writers' Workshop, but we want more! So, we've decided to extend the deadline until Monday April 12th (postmark deadline), so you can get that story in and maybe even win $1000!
Check out all the details here.
Here are a few FAQs we've been encountering:
1. Can I enter more than one story?
Can't choose amongst all your gems? No problem. Just buy a ticket for each story you want to enter.
2. Do I need a cover letter?
We judge this contest completely blindly from the first read to the final judging. When you buy your ticket and get your registration number, we have captured all your information. You may put a return address on the envelope, but please only put your registration number on your short story.
3. Do I have to be an unpublished writer?
You do not have to be an "unpublished writer" to enter the 2010 Asian American Short Story Contest -- the contest is open to all people of Asian descent living in the United States and Canada.
4. Can I enter a story that was self-published or published somewhere else, even if it was a very small journal?
We are asking that all submissions for the 2010 Asian American Short Story Contest be unpublished anywhere else. Happy writing, revising and entering! May the best Asian American Short Story win.
