Wide Lantern Digs into Diversity
Date: 16 March 2012

Wide Lantern, an entertainment-focused website promoting diverse people and points of view, will present its inaugural Con panel at WonderCon 2012 in Anaheim, California.

Wide Lantern’s roundtable discussion kicks off the three-day event Friday, March 16 with its 1:30pm panel, Pitching Diversity. Executives, comic book artists, writers, actors, and producers will delve into how to work within the confines of the Hollywood system to create diverse characters, themes, and storylines, and offer practical advice on how to pitch diverse projects successfully.

Moderated by Wide Lantern’s writer Ken Choy, the panelists include Brandon Easton (Shadowlaw creator, Thundercats writer), Randall Park (Supah Ninjas star; writer), Teresa Huang (staff writer on Knight Rider remake), Charles Howard (Producers Guild of America Diversity Committee), Adam Wolman (creative consultant; Wide Lantern co-founder; former network exec), and Frank Gonzalez (Director, Talent Development and Diversity, Disney/ABC Television Group).

Some lucky attendees may have a chance to pitch their project to the panel and get valuable feedback.

WonderCon 2012 is at the Anaheim Convention Center March 16-18, 2012.

Co-founded by Adam Wolman and Curtis Chin, Wide Lantern is staffed by entertainment industry professionals and working artists with a common goal: to go beyond the mainstream by creating a truly diverse site, bringing cross-cultural entertainment, news, politics, and commentary that reflects the face of America today.
