The Central Asia Newswire (Centralasianewswire.com) is an international news organization specializing in the coverage of the former Soviet Republics of Central Asia. (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan). We are a growing organization with reporters and stringers throughout Central Asia and elsewhere. We provide the inside scoop on the region’s significant energy sector, vital security concerns, geo-politics and expanding international business community.

We are seeking a full-time reporter with international experience to be based in Astana, Kazakhstan. You will be responsible for a daily roundup of the region’s top stories plus ongoing enterprise reporting.

The Central Asia is a vital geo-political center with some of the world’s largest oil and gas reserves, unique strategic and military interests, dynamic social issues and developing economies/governments.

This is an excellent opportunity for a reporter to make their name on an international stage in an important, yet under-reported region.

Translators, transportation and staff to handle travel arrangements within the region are provided.

Qualifications:

• International reporting experience.
• Enterprise reporting ability. Capacity to break through language barriers and bureaucracies to gather information under unconventional circumstances.
• Ability to manage multiple stories/diverse sectors and large amounts of information
• Ability to relocate
• Experience/knowledge of the region preferred but not required
