Call for Submissions: "this" Poet Spotlight
(Note that Asia Writes's previously featured poet, Nicholas Y.B. Wong, will appear in their first spotlight issue this September.)

POET SPOTLIGHT - THIS, A LITERARY WEBZINE

this, a literary webzine, is currently accepting submissions for our second poet spotlight.

A "poet spotlight" is an opportunity for poets to have their work published in exclusivity in an issue of the 'zine. While other non-poetry content would continue to be published in that issue (fiction, non-fiction, etc.), for the selected poet their work would appear alone. As a result of appearing solo, a greater number of poems by the selected poet would appear in the issue and the poet would have an opportunity to either publish an artist's statement or to participate in an interview that would accompany the selected works. Our goal with the spotlight is to bring both poetry and truly talented poets to the forefront more frequently. Our first spotlight will debut in the September/October 2010 issue and will feature the Hong Kong-based poet Nicholas Y.B. Wong.

Poets are eligible for consideration if they have not published more than one book of poetry (including chapbooks and self-published collections). We especially encourage unpublished poets to submit.

For complete submission guidelines, please visit our website. With questions, please e-mail as thiszine [at] gmail [dot] com.

The deadline is November 15 for poets who wish to submit their work. Poets will be informed of our decision by December 31. Publication will occur in the March/April 2011 issue of the magazine.
