Winners of the Betawi Culture Association (Indonesia) Short Story Writing Contest Announced
The Betawi Culture Association (LKB) Indonesia recently announced the winners of its short story writing competition held last April. The competition was aimed at encouraging people to love the Betawi culture and develop the creative writing skills of young people. It was first organized in 2006.

The winners are: Yamin Azhari as the first winner by his short story titled “Monyet”, followed by Wita Dwi Maharani Putri “Si Bangku Jadul”, Yamin Azhari “Cinte…!”, Gita Aryani Kartika “Kawin Urung” and I Goees Magrib “Order Bobokan”.

The contest was also held to commemorate the National Awakening Day themed "Dignifying Betawi Literature." The judges included H. Abdul Chaer of Jakarta State University, DR Ibnu Wahyudi of University of Indonesia (UI) and Zen Hae of Jakarta Arts Council (DKJ).
