The Map KL Poetry Cup (Malaysia) Moved to July 16th
The date for The MAP Poetry Cup has been changed to Friday, July 16th 2010. That means more time to sharpen those pencils, hone those skills and hey, maybe recover those hours spent eyes wide open during the World Cup as well!

The FEVER is on! Yes folks, it is high time to flex those creative muscles, strategise and aim for the highest score! Are you ready?

The Plan

Step 1: Each poet has the opportunity to present one poem in the first round.
Step 2: The judges (randomly picked from among the audience) score the poets on a scale of 0 to 10 based on context and performance after each round.
Step 3: The highest scoring poets will advance to the next round.
Step 4: Remind oneself that there will be at least 3 rounds
Step 5: The poet with the highest score in the final round will be declared champion & bestowed the glory for eternity (or until the next Poetry Cup). HURRAH!

The Rules

1. Each poem much be of the poet's own construction i.e. an original piece
2. Each poet gets three minutes in each round; if the poet goes over-time, points will be deducted.
3. The poet may not use any props, costumes or musical instruments.
4. Group entries are allowed, but all much perform together as a team.

This contest is open to poets writing in ANY language. If you wish to participate or have any inquiries, please contact elainefoster78@gmail.com. See you all there! Cheers!
