Children’s writers and illustrators are invited to apply for selection to be a presenter or a workshop facilitator at the 2013 Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) West Retreat ( 13- 16 June 2013) on the magical Rottnest Island in Western Australia. The retreat promises to be an excellent opportunity to mingle with Australian publishers, industry leaders and fellow writers and illustrators.
The Singapore representative selected is expected to either conduct a workshop or give a presentation on their craft or publishing experience. SCBWI West may also be able to help organise media opportunities, and school or library visits for the Singapore representative.
The retreat is co-organised by the National Book Development Council of Singapore (NBDCS) and SCBWI West. SCBWI West will cover the Singapore representative’s three nights’ accommodation on Rottnest Island and one night’s accommodation in Perth/Fremantle. NBDCS will cover travel costs incurred by the Singapore representative to Perth.

APPLICATION DETAILS:
This programme is open only to Singaporean and Singapore Permanent Residents living and residing in Singapore. Applications from unpublished creators with experience and talent will be considered, but a publishing record will give more weight to the application. Only one person will be selected from the pool of applicants.
All applications must reach NBDCS as either a soft copy or a hard copy by Thursday, 31 January 2013
