- Has experience in news gathering and news writing
- Familiar with the latest trends in online journalism, social media, and user-generated content
- Is a team-player and a people person
- Creative; can think of different ways of telling a story using multimedia tools like video, photos, audio, or interactive applications
- Is capable of meeting deadlines under minimal supervision
