The ICRC External Resources Department (REX) with main responsibilities of raising funds and reporting to its donors is currently hiring dynamic individuals as

REPORTING OFFICER/S
  • Male or Female
  • To be based in Manila (Petron Mega Plaza, Makati City)
MAIN TASKS: The Reporting Officer is responsible for producing a variety of standard documents that aim to keep ICRC donors fully informed about ICRC activities worldwide and to encourage their ongoing support for the organization. These documents include the ICRC's financial appeals, annual reports and midterm reports, as well as ad hoc updates on ICRC programmes in specific countries or regions and papers explaining ICRC policies. The job entails rewriting/editing/revising/proof-reading existing reports and creating new texts.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
  • University degree, preferably social or political science, history, law or literature; masters degree a plus
  • English as mother tongue or at least schooled in English prior to university
  • Proven English-language writing skills; previous experience in journalism/report-writing/translation desirable
  • Knowledge of French (for reading) highly sought after; Spanish (for reading) an asset
  • Computer-literate: keyboard skills, good knowledge of MS Word & MS Excel features (templates, styles, etc.), Internet and revision tools etc.
  • Knowledge of the International Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement an asset

Prior to selection interviews, the candidates will undergo tests to assess their written communication skills. Selected candidates will follow an initial briefing programme of 2 to 4 weeks in Geneva, Switzerland.
