Gulf News Magazines is looking for an experienced senior journalist for the position of Deputy Editor on SCENE, a weekly celebrity, entertainment, lifestyle and style magazine.
SCENE brings the glamour and excitement of Hollywood, Bollywood and entertainment direct to our readers, along with a weekly look at the hottest star trends; and gets the inside track on the very best of what’s going on in and around the Emirates.
We are looking for a Deputy Editor - or very experienced Features Editor who can clearly demonstrate that they are ready to take the next step in their career - who is able to hit the ground running, come up with at least five brilliant news, pics and feature ideas before breakfast; have a beady eye for super-creative commercial opportunities and ways in which to grow the brand; an excellent working knowledge of online, apps and social media platforms; excellent management skills and who is absolutely obsessed with celebrities and everything that comes under the umbrella of entertainment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of two years experience in a senior position on a celebrity or lifestyle magazine.
- An obsession with celebrity and all forms of entertainment, including movies, music and online; along with a speedy willingness to learn about all areas of the magazine.
- Plenty of exciting and fresh editorial and brand extension ideas.
- The ability to develop fantastic relationships with key players in the markets.
- An excellent understanding of digital media and social media platforms.
- Be able to work on their own initiative.
- Good knowledge of the magazine production process.
- Strong organisational, editing and management skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to constant change in workload and scheduling.
- Representing the magazine at promotional and networking events when required.
