Timbre Music Academy's Poetry of Song Competition (Singapore)
Deadline: 14 August 2012

(Note: sorry for the late notice. We hope they won't be reading entries until tomorrow morning. So you have a few hours to submit.)

Poetry of Song returns with a new twist and theme! After the successful run last year with 300 poetry entries and 5 great songs, the competition is open this year to both budding Chinese and English poets. 6 shortlisted poems will be turned into songs and performed live by singer-songwriters from the Timbre Music Academy and the Singapore music scene.

3 English and 3 Chinese poems will be selected and our line-up of songwriters and composers will write melodies and craft songs with the verses. The final product will be 6 songs professionally produced which will be made available online for public voting. The poets stand to win attractive cash prizes and, more importantly, see their words come alive with Poetry of Song.

We’re going back to our Roots this year, so plant your feet and dig deep – write an ode to your family, unearth lost dreams or relive histories. The search starts now for the most popular English and Mandarin poem-songs!

So what are you waiting for? Email your original poems (not more than 200 words) between now and 14 August 2012 to poetry@timbregroup.asia with your details (name and contact number).
