ROLE
- You’ll provide quality, informative programmes and reports on Sri Lanka for BBC Radio, Television and Online News outlets. Reporting to the Service Editor Sinhala Service and BBC’s South Asia Bureau Editor in New Delhi, you’ll report on all aspects of national political, economic and cultural life in Sri Lanka. This role is offered on local terms and conditions and is based In Sri Lanka.
- You’ll stay well briefed on the region in order to report and comment with authority. The successful candidate will also go through a comprehensive training programme in the UK.
REQUIREMENTS
- You’ll have substantial experience as a Reporter/Journalist, including recent experience as a reporter working in Sri Lanka, and experience of reporting on live/breaking news. You’ll have a good command over Sinhala and English as well as a sound knowledge of Sri Lankan/South Asian affairs, including political, economic and security developments in the region.
