Deadline: 15 September 2012
A month ago, published, unpublished, casual and budding writers were invited to contribute to what will be the first Sri Lankan Anthology of Hint Fiction, based on Hint Fiction edited by Robert Swartwood. Around 100 submissions - all very well written - were sent in by the deadline, falling today. However, the project needs around 60 more stories.
Perera-Hussein Books has offered to seriously consider publishing the anthology once there are around 160 stories. Submissions will now be accepted till 15th September 2012. Please email your submission to hintfiction@groundviews.org.
Here is the original call for submissions:
Sanjana Hattotuwa is doing an anthology project (similar to Hint Fiction edited by Robert Swartwood) with Sri Lankan writers or those from abroad who had spent some time in the country. Perera-Hussein Books offered to seriously consider publishing this Sri Lankan anthology of Hint Fiction.
Prospective writers should anchor their story (or stories) to something very Sri Lankan – a phrase, place, event, issue, marker, adage, trait, historical chapter, reference, image, dish, sweetmeat or map, for example. The idea is to evoke something of this country – something loved, reviled, longed for or missed.
Please remember that each story should be 25 words or less.
