Daekyo Culture Foundation Children's Literature Award ($10,000 top prize | Philippines, Singapore, HK, Malaysia, Indonesia)

Daekyo is recognized to be Korea’s representative education service provider and one of three leading education service providers in the world. The Daekyo Culture Foundation is inviting all writers to submit a children's short story to win a trip to South Korea for two, cash prizes and many more. The literary competition is open to the public above 18 years old. There are two categories: Short Story and Illustrated book.

SHORT STORY
  • Prizes include a medal, $10,000 prize money, and invitation (including 1 accompanying person) to the awarding ceremony.
  • 3-4 pages long on A4
  • 10 font size
  • A maximum of 3 works are acceptable per person
  • Newcomers and veterans are welcomed to submit
  • No specific theme
ILLUSTRATED STORY BOOK
  • Prizes include a medal, $10,000 prize money, and invitation (including 1 accompanying person) to the awarding ceremony
  • Submit hand-drawn original drawings and provisionally-bound version/ dummy book
  • Digitally-rendered illustration is not acceptable
  • Joint creation by 2 or more persons is acceptable
  • Enclose original drawings in a portfolio art bag
  • In case of a 3D artwork, submit slide photos and negative film
  • Original drawing size should be 265x340mm or 360x300mm
  • Book length should be around 30 pages
  • No specific theme
  • Newcomers and veterans are welcomed to submit
The above prize money is for final contest winner. Inquire with country contacts for prize money details for the qualifying round in eligible countries.

BENEFITS AND RIGHTS OF WINNERS
  • Winning entries are published as an independent volume through Daekyo and publishing copyright (including overseas) is reserved to Daekyo Culture Foundation for 5 years from the publication date and re-contracted with Daekyo.
  • Winning entries and winners are promoted in contest reports and book fairs in applicable year.
  • Even non-winning entries can be given publicatin opportunities, depending on discussion with authors
  • Entries are not to be returned (excluding illustrated book entries that can be returned, upon request)
