Call for Applications: The 2012 Cornelio Faigao Memorial Annual Writers Fellowship (Philippines)

The Cebuano Studies Center is pleased to announce the opening of its 2012 Fellowship competition. The Center awards approximately 15 creative writing fellowships to the Cornelio Faigao Memorial Annual Writers Workshop every November.

The Faigao Workshop is open for submissions from August 15 to September 30, 2012. Regular mail submissions must be postmarked September 30, 2012 to be eligible for screening. Applicants may submit a suite of seven (7) poems, a short story or a one-act play in either English or in Cebuano. Writing samples will not be returned.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

1. Entry
  • Entries must be typed double spaced in Arial or New Times Roman font size 12 with 1” margin on all sides
  • Entries must not bear the name of the author
  • A soft copy encoded in MS Word on CD
2. Current Resume with 2x2 photo

3. Application letter: Tell us why you want to be a writer and how your background will add a
unique perspective to the literary arts
