Date: 22 - 29 July 2012
Lit Up Singapore, now in its fourth year, is organised by Word Forward and The Writers Centre Singapore.
The festival aims to CONNECT and CREATE - first to connect emerging writers and performers to established artists and audiences; second to create new works and collaboration opportunities for emerging artists.
The slogan for Lit Up 2012, 'Occupied Art,' brings together the idea of art being not just an event or a moment, but a space that we all inhabit, whether as practitioners or audience.
It is also about recognising and celebrating TAPAC as a representation of the artistic community in Singapore. As TAPAC is slated to close its doors in March 2013, Lit Up Singapore 2012 aims to fully occupy the space of this historic arts housing with a wide variety of performances that range from poetry slams, plays, acoustic performances to visual installations and more.
