The Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) is looking for a part-time, freelance copy-writer and sub-editor to provide content for its website, internet channels (e.g. Facebook LinkedIn, specialist blog posts), periodic newsletters and general email updates.
The relevant content will cover venture philanthropy, strategic philanthropy, impact investing and social investment. The primary perspective will be that of the “supply side” of resources (money, time and expertise/knowhow) to social purpose organisations. However, developments in social entrepreneurship, social enterprise and socially responsible businesses will also be important.
The primary geographic coverage will be Asia (particularly India, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and other South East Asian economies) but AVPN links Asia to global developments in venture philanthropy and coverage of best practices and key developments in Europe and North America (and elsewhere) is also important
ACTIVITIES
1. Developing and Monitoring a List of Sources and Feeds to capture VP news and events

- Creating an aggregated/customised news digest from internet sources
- Creating and maintaining a list of most relevant blog sites and bloggers
- Creating and maintaining a list of websites and free content from the most relevant VP publications
- Checking a list of key websites for updates and news (list to be agreed with AVPN)
2. Generating a regular flow of content from the external sources
By monitoring the sources above and searching/checking for updates, create the following regular reports/outputs:
- Weekly updates for AVPN’s website: 1-2 top news extracts (max 400 words)
- Weekly updates for AVPN’s LinkedIn and Facebook content: 5 or 6 short (i.e. max 50 words) news stories, extracted from external news feeds
3. Generating content from AVPN and/or for AVPN’s regular and ad-hoc “publications”
For quarterly AVPNews newsletter:
- Three mini-features (of 600-800 words)
- 4 short “member news” stories (max 300 words)
- 4 short “other news” stories (max 300 words)
