Join some of India's funniest comedians as we discuss the art of comedy writing & performing, how to impress Queens with jokes and new labour tax policies for do gunna lagaan.
SCHEDULES:
DAY 1 (FRIDAY 22nd JUNE): SKETCH DAY
Sketch writing workshop hosted by Varun Grover, the head writer for Jay Hind, The Late Night Show, as well as the lyricist for 'Gangs of Wasseypur' and 'That Girl In Yellow Boots'. Varun will take you through the journey of starting with an idea to writing it as a sketch to executing it on stage as well as television.
The workshop will be followed by a sketch and character show by East India Comedy, called Character Assassination.
DAY 2 (SATURDAY 23rd JUNE): STAND UP DAY
Stand-up comedy workshop conducted by the best of East India Comedy, Sorabh Pant and Kunal Rao! This is the perfect place for you to find your funny bone and utilise it to tickle others. Join them as they offer you tips & tricks of comedy writing and performing.
The workshop will be followed by an amateur open mic night, Virgin Pants, the winner of which will get a chance to perform with us professionally. This will be followed by a bunch of maniacal stand up comedy acts by Sorabh Pant, Kunal Rao, Sapan Verma and Sahil Shah.
DAY 3 (SUNDAY 24th JUNE): IMPROV DAY
You say it, we do it. A day of improv comedy workshops which will make you spontaneous, energetic and funny all at the same time. Not only will we teach you the tricks, we'll also divide you into groups and give you a chance to perform, right there and then! The workshop will be hosted by Sorabh Pant, Aditi Mittal, Kunal Rao and Abish Mathew.
The workshop will be followed by New & Improv'd, our improv comedy show featuring some of the best improv games, but with a desi twist!
So come one and come all! The Queen demands you to show up and learn some comedy tricks. She likes funny people.
