With summer vacations round the corner, it’s time for the children to take a break from the mundane activities and do something different. Katha presents KALEIDOSCOPE – Summer at its Creative Best!! Give your children a fun filled and energetic break. Follow the Workshops Schedule at Katha, attached herewith.

WHY SHOULD STORIES BE TOLD? THE ART OF STORYTELLING & STORY WRITING

2-3rd June (10am-12pm)

13 years and above. Registration fee- 1000/-

For ages 13+ this interesting workshop will focus upon the art of storytelling in respect to the methodology and will bring to the fore the relevance of this ancient Indian tradition. There will be a discussion about the need to tell stories to toddlers and why it should not be neglected by parents and teachers. There will also be a story writing workshop wherein participants will be given a theme and encouraged to write a story around it. The session will be led by Mr. Arnab Banerjee a Language Consultant for the History Channel.

ART AND THE ART OF MAKING BOOKS.

11-15th June (10:30am-12:30pm)

10-15 years old. Registration fee- 2500/-

In this workshop you will be able to learn the art of illustration with renowned illustrator Ms. Ludmilla Chakrabarty, who created the beautiful artwork in On the tip of a pin for Katha. Participants will also get to learn how to make a storybook out of the artwork they create with the help of Ms.Chhavi Jain, a Design intern at Katha. The workshop is designed to take participants on a fun journey as they learn how to bring stories to life!

STORIES UNLIMITED!

15-16th June (4-6pm)

5-12 years old. Registration fee- 500/-

In a two day session on Storytelling one hour of each session will be devoted to storytelling and in the other, the children will take part in an activity woven around the book. Conducted by Ms. Krishna Rao, allow your little ones to be initiated in the world of books this summer, and learn everything storytelling has to offer!

THEATRE

20-30th June (10am-1pm)

8-15 years old. Registration fee- 3500/-

This workshop will be conducted by ASMITA, one of the leading Hindi theatre groups in the country with a committed goal of innovativeness and social relevance. The group takes up contemporary issues to underline the contours of our time whilst also providing the best of entertainment. Having been associated with Katha for the past five years, Mr. Arvind Gaur and his group aim to bring a holistic change to the children’s outlooks in this ten day long workshop, encouraging their awareness of social values and respect for other individuals.
