Job Opening: Deputy Country Editor for Yahoo! Singapore
Yahoo! Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. is looking for a Deputy Country Editor to join the Yahoo! Singapore editorial team.

The ideal candidate must have at least seven years’ experience working in a traditional or online newsroom. At least three years must have been spent in managing a team of writers, reporters or content producers.

The ideal candidate must be a strong writer with excellent story-telling and sub-editing skills and a proven track record of leading editorial content strategy – both aggregated and original -- across one or multiple media platforms.

He or she must be a dynamic, passionate team leader with a broad range of interests covering news, finance, entertainment, travel, lifestyle and sports.

The ideal candidate must be deeply passionate about digital journalism and new media. Having a strong social media presence is a plus. Experience in video production and/or broadcast experience is another added advantage.

He or she should also be effectively bilingual. This position is based in Singapore and reports to the Singapore Country Editor.

Here's what we're looking for in a candidate:

-Fluent in English + Mandarin/Malay/Tamil
-Must have at least 7 years of working in traditional or online newsroom
-Proven track record in managing team of content writers and leading editorial strategy
-Strong writing, editing and sub-editing skills
-Bachelor's degree, preferably in journalism or communications
-Passionate about online journalism and the digital space
-Dynamic and passionate leader with a wide range of interests
