Poets from the Arab World to Participate in the First Session of Tripoli International Poetry Festival
Date: 28 - 30 April 2012

The first session of the Tripoli International Poetry Festival will be held in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, from the 28th to 30th of April this year. Twenty nine poets and scholars from the Arab world, Europe and the United States will participate in poetry readings and seminars. The festival aims to revisit the place of poetry and its role in situations similar to the Arab Spring.

Participating in the festival are Tahir Riaz (Jordan), Al-Ghanim stars (UAE), Andrea Rouse (Italy), Matthew Sweeney (Ireland), James Byrne, Margaret Obank, Nii Parkes (Britain), Habib Tungor (Algeria - France), Habib Sanusi , Eve Aalghemoda, Khaled Al-Mutawa, Salem Alaclai, Suad Salim Saleh Qdereboh, Aisha Moroccan, Ashour Tuibi, Abdul Salam Ajili (Libya), Ahmed Al-Mulla (Saudi Arabia), Rasha Omran (Syria), Zakaria Mohammed (Palestine), Iman Mersal (Egypt), Mubarak and Sat (Morocco), Tony Hoagland, Caroline Vhorshih, Marilyn Hacker, John Thompson, Christopher Merrill (United States).
