If you are a young adult (between the ages of 12 to 18) with a knack for writing and storytelling, join the Filipinas Heritage Library’s creative writing workshop for teens this summer. This four-day workshop will help you tap your creative juices and hone your writing skills in the company of a writing mentor and fellow aspiring writers. By the end the workshop, you should be well on your way to writing your first story or poem.
Sandra Nicole Roldan, instructor for creative writing at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, will be the returning facilitator for this workshop. Aside from being a professor, she also works as a freelance writer for various magazines and a freelance English and writing trainer for various groups.
Sandra earned her bachelor’s degree in English Studies: Creative Writing at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, where she graduated magna cum laude. During her college years, she was a member of the UP Writers Club and Samahan ng mga Tagasalin (SALIN). Now, she is taking graduate studies in creative writing at the same university. She is also part of the Cultural Partnership Initiative in Korea.
The workshop fee is P3,000 inclusive of handouts, materials, snacks and a certificate. A non-refundable down payment of P1,000 is required to reserve a slot. The deadline for reservations is on April 10, 2012. Register before the deadline and receive a 5-percent discount. Acentives members can avail of an additional 5-percent discount.
