BANGKOK WOMEN’S WRITERS GROUP: Celebrating 11 years of history
Please join us at our author reading on 10 April 7PM at artsspace@newsong in Sukhumvit Soi 39/1 (3 minutes walk from the Emporium). Readings from current members of the BWWG, including:
We meet every second Tuesday 7 PM at Starbucks Soi Lang Suan to workshop our writing in a supportive and creative environment. Current members include several published and international prize winning authors, novelists, essayists, academics, humorists and poets, as well as a few complete beginners. Our authors come from different continents and from a wide range of backgrounds and age groups.
This year, the BWWG celebrates 11 years of an unbroken line of author meetings.
IN 2007 we published our Thai English language bestseller ‘Bangkok Blondes’, and in 2009 we gave a reading at the British Council and published a pamphlet, ‘Bangkok, Boston, Brattleboro - Alien Pens on Familiar Places ‘. In connection with the 2012 reading we are publishing a new pamphlet with excerpts of work in progress by the authors above.
Come and listen to our authors. It will be an exciting evening, a little bit different from traditional readings. We will take you close to the place where art is created, and you will meet the authors both through their work and in person. Maybe, the evening will also inspire the writer inside yourself…
The event is free.
Please try to be on time if you can – listening to the reading of a story or poem works best if there are not too many distractions. And it carries a great reward – a free trip out of the confinement of our own mind, and an invitation into the internal landscape of a living author, right in front of you.
