TOPIC

The Story should cover an aspect of the Palestinian child's refugee experience, human and national rights, in particular the right to return to their original homes.

SPECIFIC RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. The general rules and regulations are part of the specific rules and regulations.
2. The story must be suitable for children under 8 years of age.
3. The submission must be in Arabic, either Modern Standard or colloquial;
4. The word limit for submissions is 200 words;
5. Winning submissions will be subject to editing prior to publication.
6. Participants should submit their articles as Word files (.doc) including a brief description of themselves and their contact information.
8. Copies will not be returned to the participants.

Deadline for submission of stories is the first of September 2012

THE VALUE OF THE AWARD:

• First prize: 800 Euros
• Second prize: 600 Euros
• Third prize: 400 Euros

BADIL WILL ALSO:

• Publish the first three winning submissions either as part of BADIL's regular publications or as a separate publication as BADIL and the jury members see fit;
• Give each winner 100 printed copies of their story.
• Award up to ten honorable mentions based on the decisions of the jury, which will also be distributed at the 2012 Awards Ceremony.
