Dates: 16 - 23 July 2011
Theme: The City Limits
Lit Up Singapore 2011, now in its third year, is organised by Word Forward and The Writers Centre Singapore.
Last year this 10-day long Festival attracted more than 10,000 people who attended and participated in a very broad range of literary discussions, workshops, poetry slams, and other literature-focused activities.

These events were led by a host of well-established national and international writers and performers covering all literature genres, from poetry and novel/short-story writing, to film and drama.
The Festival's general aims are to:
Invite established national and international writers and performers to inspire and share their skills and knowledge with local young and emerging writers and audiences
Make emerging writers the focus of a literary arts festival, by empowering them as writers, poets, performers, directors, actors, hosts, moderators and volunteers.
Increase the wider community's recognition of the creative skills, ideas, concerns and opinions of young emerging writers.
Enhance the training, publishing, and creative opportunities for young and emerging writers, performers and artists.
Provide a range of high-quality, diverse and rewarding experiences for both established and emerging writers, performers and artists that will develop and enhance their creative skills.
Create competitive platform for young people in the literary arts
Provide audiences with new opportunities to enjoy literature.
