Deadline: 31 July 2011 (from 15 July 2011)
People are invited to write to the future generation, 50 years from now, in a letter-writing contest organized by Thailand Post.
The concept of the contest – which is the third of its kind – is similar to the ‘time capsule’ principle, in which contestants will narrate the situation in Thailand in 2011 to Thai people in 2061.
The contest is open to students at primary, secondary, and university level, as well as to the general public, and each entry must be in the standard letter-writing format contained in an A4 paper and can be either written or typed in 16-point font size.
Contestants can send their entries to PO Box 2554, Thailand Post Office, Bangkok, 10002 – without postage stamps – until 31 July 2011.
Winners will be given cash prizes ranging from 10,000 baht down to 1,000 baht, plus certificates.
All entries will be kept as historical evidence at the National Archives of Thailand, where letters from the two previous competitions have been stored.
