Based on the tropical island of Phuket, Class Act Media currently produces Phuket's biggest weekly English language newspaper (The Phuket News) as well as monthly publications in Samui and Hua Hin.
Due to recent expansions we are currently recruiting for the position of Managing Editor to oversee the production of our publications.
Managing Editor (Phuket)
Responsibilities:
* Leading our ten-person editorial/design team
* Overseeing the overall production and deadlines of our weekly and monthly publications
Requirements:
* Thai or Foreigner
* Strong previous experience in editing/sub-editing/Journalism/Reporting preferably with a newspaper or magazine
* Two or more years’ experience in managing editorial staff, with proven ability to train and motivate employees
* Experience in using Adobe InDesign and experience with publication layout
* Good organizational skills
* Suitable qualifications in journalism or related field
* Previous experience in Thailand or another Asian country is a plus but not essential
* Ability to commit to living in Phuket permanently starting from mid/late August 2011)
