At this year's Asia on the Edge 2011, creative talents from Asia will have the opportunity to interact with over 100 like-minded creators from around Asia, and showcase their fresh ideas to a distinguished panel of international experts and venture capitalists who can take their concepts to the next level.
Happening at The Arts House from 24 to 25 June, the inaugural Generating Ideas Symposium at Asia on the Edge 2011 will give creative entrepreneurs a chance to win the SGD 10,000 as seed money to develop their concept.
We invite all Asians (of Asian origin or based in Asia) to register their proposals online at http://spaces.org.sg/aote/ which also includes submission rules, fees and other eligibility information.
Qualifications
Both Discovery Café and Pitch It! are open to all artists, professionals and practitioners from the arts and creative industries based in Asia or of Asian origins. Attendees of Discovery Café can also participate in Pitch It! and vice-versa, or simply choose to attend either.
Pitch It! looks for ideas or concepts which have yet to be realised (still in concept stage) or are in prototype or early developmental stage (e.g. workshop stage for a performance; manuscript for literary arts; script for new media/film) and have the potential for further development.
The programme are open to the following disciplines:
• Performing arts (theatre, music, dance, inter-disciplinary work etc.)
• Design
• Film and New Media
• Visual Arts
• Literary Arts
The submission should articulate clearly:
• Concept/Idea (and if possible, the following:)
• Key differentiating factor of the Concept within the context of its field/discipline/industry
• Market Needs
• Economic Viability and Spin off
• Implementation Plan to realise the concept
