Call for Contributions to the WISE Muslim Women’s Web Portal
Deadline: 27 June 2011

The WISE Muslim Women’s Web Portal is the first-of-its-kind clearinghouse for information relating to Muslim women. The WISE Portal offers balanced and nuanced representation of Muslim women, who are often misrepresented in today’s media. The Website showcases the diverse accounts of Muslim women as artists, peacemakers, activists, scholars and much more. The WISE Portal is also a practical tool, offering Muslim women valuable information and resources to create change in their homes and communities.

In order to ensure the WISE Portal reflects the great diversity of Muslim women’s opinions and backgrounds, we need YOUR contributions. WISE is looking for a variety of submissions that can include newspaper and magazine articles, scholarly papers, and artistic contributions to add to the numerous sections of the WISE Portal.

Please kindly review the Website and send related materials to WISE Program Associate, Lensay Abadula at Lensay@asmasociety.org. Submissions must be sent in .pdf or .doc form; Web links to content will also be accepted given the full URL is provided. The name and email address of the submitter must be included on all materials. The last day for submissions is Monday, June 27, 2011, but we strongly encourage submissions be sent before the deadline.

Only content that is in its final form will be accepted. Previously published materials are highly preferred. WISE is unable to edit any work and regretfully can only accept content in English at this time. Only selected items will be featured. By submitting written content/photos you acknowledge that you are the originator of the content/photos or have explicit permission to do so and have attributed all content appropriately.

Add YOUR voice to the WISE Muslim Women’s Web Portal TODAY!
