Shenzhen University (SZU) invites applications for Full-time Distinguished Professor positions for highly qualified candidates with special expertise in one of the following academic areas listed below.

The University

The university is located in Shenzhen; a big city of over 14 million people in Southern China’s Guangdong Province and is directly adjacent to Hong Kong. Shenzhen is China’s first Special Economic Zone, is well known for its economic, scientific and technical innovation, and is one of China’s most advanced and prosperous cities. Responsibilities

1. Participate in graduate and undergraduate teaching, guide young teaching faculty to improve the teaching quality of the department;
2. Conduct high-level original academic research for new significant academic achievement;
3. Lead an active ongoing research program evidenced by a strong record of publications in prominent peer-reviewed journals, mentorship of pre- and postdoctoral trainees, and by possession of a strong record of substantial and sustained extramural research funding.

Qualifications

1. Candidates should have an earned doctorate in a closely related discipline with a track record of extraordinary accomplishment in teaching, research / scholarship, and professional service judged by peers to be outstanding;
2. They should have assistant-professor or above academic experience in world-renowned universities;
3. They should have been recognized nationally or internationally for the importance of their achievements and are expected to bring distinction to SZU and serve as a key contributor to achieving its strategic goal of becoming a World-Class university.
4. They should have great academic potential and be able to anticipate the development tendency of their field.
5. They should have a strong organizing and communicating ability to lead their research team to reach world leading level.

Salary/Benefits

Salary and benefits are very competitive; yearly salary starting from 100,000 to 200,000 US Dollars and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
