HAPPY MONDAYS LXXXV: Revived & Resurrected!
It's the 85th installment of the bi-weekly Happy Mondays Poetry Nights this Monday, April 4, 2011 at Ride & Roll Diner, 59 Xavierville Avenue, Quezon City.
Does the poet love with a violent heart? Not on Happy Mondays. On Happy Mondays, the drill is simple: chat with the like-minded, read a poem, and knock down a beer or two (or as much as your belly can hold.)
But what's with Mondays and poetry?
"Mondays are for abandon," explains the Mag:net organizers who came up with the concept on April 2, 2007. Since then, there have been 84 Happy Mondays. Poets have come and gone. Some read; others perform; a few try to walk on water. Then Mag:net Katipunan closed, and many thought that was that for Happy Mondays.
Now MovFest and the Monday gang are bringing Happy Mondays back, this time at Ride and Roll. Come celebrate the resurrection of the country's longest-running poetry night with the usual pack of revelers: poets and singers, conformists and dissenters, and merry onlookers who are there for the beer.
Bring a poem. Bring a friend. Bring every cog of your steampunk heart. Free admission the whole evening.
