Deputy Editor, Time Out
Time Out Dubai is looking for an exceptional journalist to take on the role of Deputy Editor. Working closely with the editor, you will manage a small team of section editors/writers and ensure the smooth running of the magazine. As well as deputising to the editor, the role carries responsibility for commissioning/writing features, editing the work of section editors and liaising with the online team on web output. Candidates will be able to demonstrate exceptional writing skills, sound editorial judgement and have previous experience managing in-house staff, ideally on a weekly magazine. Keen to hit the ground running and make the city your own, knowledge of Dubai would certainly help, though is not essential.

You will have the versatility to write confidently and at speed across a range of genres, from food, music and nightlife, to art, sport and fashion. Your research and interviewing skills will be exceptional and you will be used to working to tight deadlines. Keen to hit the ground running and make the city your own, knowledge of Dubai would certainly help, though is not essential.
